New system solutions: heroal is expanding its window, door and fire protection portfolio

Verl, January 2025. heroal – Johann Henkenjohann GmbH & Co. KG continues to create added value in the core topics of security, accessibility and design with new window, door, curtain wall and fire protection solutions. The integrated system solutions for residential and commercial buildings consistently target maximum efficiency and process reliability in production and installation.

heroal plus: Innovative complete solution for window systems

For the very first time, the company now offers a complete accessory package for heroal W 72 and heroal W 77 window systems with heroal plus. heroal plus is a modular concept, comprised of a heroal VS Z textile screen, an anti drop device, an integrated insect screen as well as a windowsill for a complete, end-to-end solution from a single supplier. All options are available individually, in various combinations or for subsequent integration in the curtain wall and can be configured and ordered in the heroal Business configurator. The delivery of all made-to-measure system components ensures maximum efficiency and reliability in production and installation. Thanks to the uniformity of the colours and surfaces across all aluminium profiles as well as the concealed screw connections, heroal plus also ticks all the boxes when it comes to exceptional and elegant design.

New variants added to the window portfolio

To meet the highest demands on comfort and accessibility, heroal has expanded its heroal W 72 window system portfolio with a level threshold for French doors with pivoting casement. Two magnetic profiles embedded in the frame create a perfect seal when the element is closed, as they are raised automatically while closing.

The new frame profiles for windows with flush appearance inside and outside for the heroal W 72 and heroal W 77 window systems are specifically tailored to design applications. The clear, minimalist design lends the system a modern look, enabling uniform flush views for windows and doors. The heroal W 72 i and heroal W 77 i block window systems with interior glazing create a particularly harmonious overall appearance and can also be seamlessly integrated in the curtain wall as a floating window. The minimalistic design is supported by the concealed heroal WF i or heroal WF i EM fitting, which made its first appearance at the BAU exhibition with handle-controlled opening limiter to meet high child safety standards.

heroal D 72 PF EM: New design options

The heroal D 72 PF EM door system impresses with its exceptional efficiency in production and reduces throughput times in the workshop by up to 20%. The optimised construction saves on work steps and material in production. This is made possible by the innovative thermal break geometry that prevents warping without any additional production steps, the reversible panel attachment and the elimination of the glass strip. The heroal D 72 PF EM system portfolio has been expanded with new variants: the casement-enclosing variant on both sides combines superior aesthetics in entrance areas with outstanding fabrication properties. For the one-sided casement-enclosing variant, heroal has developed a profile with a thicker door panel of 60 mm for both front- and flush-mounted application.

The tested and certified heroal D 72 system for escape and emergency routes makes it possible to implement escape and emergency routes in line with DIN EN 179/1125. At BAU, heroal highlighted the flexible application of the front door system based on a panic door integrated into the heroal C 50 curtain wall system as per DIN EN 1125. The company also presented a heroal D 72 RC 3 panic door for particularly high security requirements. The door comes with a range of options, including the zero threshold for accessible design, self-locking locks for increased security and a Touch-Bar for comfortable operation. A new feature is the successful testing of the burglary resistance in line with RC 3 as per DIN EN 1627 in combination with the panic door version as per DIN EN 1125. The heroal D 72 RC 3 panic door has therefore clearly demonstrated its supreme security capabilities.

Expansion of the range of fire protection systems and applications

The heroal aluminium FireXtech fire protection platform provides a comprehensive, certified complete solution that meets the highest security standards together with the flexibility to be tailored to the requirements of modern building projects. It impresses with its efficient fabrication, high uniformity of parts, reduced installation time and effort and exceptional profile strength.

The heroal FireXtech D 93 FP fire protection system is an aesthetic and efficient solution for indoor and outdoor use. It satisfies the European classification as an EI₂ 30 fire protection barrier, also including smoke protection S_a/S₂₀₀ in line with product standards EN 16034 and EN 14351-1 outside. For indoor use in Germany, the product can be used as a fire protection barrier for 30 or 90 minutes. This is also possible in Austria and Switzerland as an El 30 or El 90 construction as per the relevant national classification documents. A new addition to the fire protection platform is the general type approval issued for F 30 fire protection glazing. With the heroal FireXtech D 93 FP 90 fire protection door system, heroal provides a building authority-approved indoor solution for 90 minutes of fire resistance as well (currently undergoing the DIBt approval process).

The heroal FireXtech D 93 FP 30 CE fire protection door system for outdoor use can also be used in the heroal C 50 FP 30 fire protection curtain wall. This allows fire protection glazing with high thermal insulation (U_G≥ 0.5W/m²K) as well as individual design elements, such as colour foils or special glazing, to be integrated. The heroal C 50 FP 30 fire protection curtain wall is also available in the highly-insulated heroal C 50 FP 30 HI variant that satisfies the highest heat insulation requirements. It seamlessly integrates into the curtain wall design and is visually identical to areas without special protection requirements.

New to the range: Glass folding walls for maximum opening widths

As part of its collaboration with Solarlux, heroal has expanded its sliding and lifting-sliding portfolio with glass folding walls. The individual elements of the Ecoline and Highline glass folding wall systems can be completely folded to the side as a narrow casement package and combine elegant design with exceptional comfort and burglary resistance up to RC 3. Fabricators benefit from the outstanding functionality with interfaces and element couplings that are perfectly coordinated with the heroal system portfolio. They can be easily and efficiently purchased through heroal. At BAU, heroal presented a Solarlux glass folding wall with level, LED-illuminated threshold integrated into the heroal C 50 curtain wall system.

Elegant glass anti drop device for heroal lifting-sliding door systems

The new heroal FPS anti drop device for the heroal S 77 SL laminated safety glass lifting-sliding door system is perfect for clearances of up to 3 m and its slender profiles create an appealing architectural solution for securing the opening area of floor-to-ceiling elements in upper stories. For perfect colour consistency, the colour of the profiles can be coordinated with the system profiles of the heroal S 77 SL lifting-sliding door system with heroal hwr powder coating. The heroal FPS anti drop device sets itself apart with its particularly easy to install fastening technology. The glass can be installed or replaced on the installed frame, ensuring a high level of flexibility. The anti drop device can also be combined with heroal sun protection and insect screen systems.
