New solutions for the highest demands on design, efficiency and functionality

Verl, January 2025. heroal roller shutters and sun protection systems offer tailored solutions for every installation situation and requirement. At BAU 2025, heroal will present innovative new products with impressive added value: high functionality, efficiency in production and installation, and high-quality design to help heroal partners flexibly execute demanding projects.

New, narrow-winding roller shutter slats

heroal has expanded its portfolio of particularly narrow-winding roller shutter slats. With a large covering width of 52 mm, the heroal RS 52 SW maxi roller shutter slat winds extremely tightly and can therefore be easily integrated into various top-mounted box systems and small roller shutter boxes. In addition to its excellent winding properties, the heroal RS 52 SW impresses with its high stability. The slim roller shutter slat heroal RS 37 BLK also boasts a very tight winding and a small barrel diameter. With a covering width of 37 mm, the heroal RS 37 SW narrow-winding roller shutter slat is the optimal solution for buildings with very small box sizes and a minimalist look.

Enhanced range of applications for heroal roller shutter systems

heroal DRP (Driving Rain Proof) is a range of guide rails that provide tightness against driving rain and, thanks to the wide variety of variants available, can be adapted to different on-site requirements. It is also suitable for combined use with insect screen tenter frames or revolving doors from the heroal IS system. The heroal DRP guide rail is installed on the panel frame of the window system and is certified up to 600 Pa. New design variants are now expanding the range of applications. In addition to a guide rail with a 40 mm distance to the panel frame, heroal specialist partners now have access to new spacer profiles for adding custom 10 mm extensions and a combination profile for the integrated insect screen.

With the new platform for angled end slats as a clockwise and counterclockwise roller application in top- or front-mounted boxes, heroal supports the easy, high-quality installation of heroal roller shutter systems. The flush completion when the roller shutter is fully raised makes the angle positioned at the bottom visually appealing." The geometry of the end slats is designed so that the angled profile can be easily and efficiently inserted into mini and maxi end slat basic profiles. The sophisticated design also helps to prevent the angled profile from moving sideways. New additions to the portfolio include an angle with a reach of 11 mm for use with existing fall protection devices and two lateral end slat guides for the smooth operation of the roller shutter in the guide rail.

Integrated solar drive for roller shutters

Sustainable solar motors for heroal roller shutter systems

Thanks to the option of integrating Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar and Somfy RS 100 Solar io solar motors, heroal roller shutter systems can be operated without a power supply, making them particularly energy-efficient. The Kaiser Nienhaus Easyline Solar solar motor, which can be controlled by a hand-held or wall-mounted radio transmitter and is also ideal for retrofitting, was on display for the first time at BAU. If there is insufficient sunshine, the roller shutter can still run for up to 100 cycles. On request, a solar-based radio wind/sun sensor can be combined with the roller shutter system so that the roller shutter curtain can be raised or lowered automatically when the weather changes. The solar motor’s integrated battery saves valuable space, enabling the optional integration of the heroal IS insect screen system into the panel box.

heroal VS Z CS

New shading solutions for transom-mullion curtain walls

With the new heroal VS Z CS sun protection system, heroal has developed an effective solution for shading transom-mullion curtain walls that blends particularly harmoniously into the curtain wall and is easy to fabricate and install. The heroal VS Z CS enables the seamless partial integration of the sun protection solution into the heroal C 50 aluminium curtain wall system and transom-mullion curtain walls from other manufacturers, allowing architects and planners to meet the highest requirements in terms of design and functionality. The 25 mm view width, which perfectly matches the view width of the heroal C 50 curtain wall system when using two guide rails, also contributes to the aesthetic appeal of the curtain wall. For maximum flexibility, the heroal VS Z CS is also available as a front-mounted variant.

heroal VB Free

To allow an even more flexible response to the specific requirements of different construction projects in the contract business, heroal has expanded its portfolio to include an external venetian blind system. The robust, weather-resistant aluminium slats can be continuously adjusted, offering a perfect balance between daylight, glare protection and privacy. Various panel and slat shapes and a wide range of colours are available to ensure perfect coordination with the building’s architecture. Electrical control and automation options via remote control, wall switch or integration into smart home systems facilitate convenient operation. Delivered as a finished element with guide rails, the self-supporting, pre-assembled external venetian blind heroal VB Free is ideal for transom-mullion curtain wall systems like the heroal C 50. Since the box is not attached to the curtain wall or the masonry, heroal VB Free is suitable for both new buildings and for later curtain wall integration. Also new to the portfolio are the heroal VB external venetian blind finished elements for on-site shafts and aluminium edge trims and the heroal VB FM external venetian blind finished element designed as a porch unit.
