heroal, one of the leading aluminium system specialists, develops and produces systems that are matched to each other for windows and doors, curtain walls, roller shutters, roller doors and sun protection. heroal systems are setting standards in innovation and quality.

The heroal portfolio stands for engineering work "Made in Germany" with top system characteristics and is systematically oriented to customer requirements - from the development at highly specialized production locations through to it´s application. The guiding principle of the company is the systematic linkage of cost efficiency and ecology in all areas of business. The company uses recycled aluminium as well as renewable resources in the "green" insulation strips. heroal operates a combined heat and power plant and meets high standards in its fleet of vehicles. The system-solutions ensure efficiency from the planning stage, through production and all the way to use in buildings. A medium-sized company with a long tradition, heroal is the employer for around 900 employees.

Locations

Plant I in Verl: (production, administration, test centre): At Plant I we concentrate on the production of roller shutters, roller garage doors and sun protection systems. Our test centre is also located here.
Plant II in Hövelhof (production, packaging, storage, coating): Plant II produces window, door and façade systems. Our coating facilities and our bending and edging facilities are also located here.
Plant III in Hövelhof (logistics and show house): Our products are shipped from our logistics centre in Plant III to our specialist partners
and to additional international locations

Our mission

The system solutions combine the best material characteristics of aluminium and aluminium-composite materials with economic assembly and high quality design -- sustainable and flexible. The interplay of heroal system solutions makes energy conservation easier, building safer, and they make a valuable contribution to the sustainability of buildings. This counts for industrial, commercial and private areas.

Sustainability

Reconciling economic efficiency with sustainability is a challenge that heroal gladly accepts. This is the path we have chosen and we will continue to pursue this path in the future. Numerous examples of this can already be found in the company – starting with our choice of materials and how we conserve energy during production through to how we distribute heroal products in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.

Using resources responsibly is part of heroal’s corporate philosophy. Because of this, we use recycled aluminium in our products. We use resource-efficient materials wherever possible; for example, in the heroal W 72 window solution: The thermal break used as insulation is made from 62 per cent renewable resources.

Quality

The heroal brand stands for premium „Made in Germany“ quality. All systems and components are certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 50001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 and are manufactured exclusively at German production sites – using special machinery developed by heroal.

Complete in-house production ensures optimal product quality and compatibility on a lasting basis. heroal’s extensive range of services also sets new standards in the industry.

Design

Outstanding quality: In addition to window, door, façade, roller shutter, roller door and sun protection systems, heroal also offers a wide range of solutions for all kinds of special systems. Besides manufacturing louvre systems and insect protection, heroal also offers systems for carports and terraces roofs.

Security, convenience and design are combined to create custom solutions that meet the requirements of users and building contractors. heroal’s high quality aluminium carport constructions are easy to assemble, economical and simple to process – the extensive range of system accessories guarantees a wide variety of design options and the highest system security. First choice for covering terraces is the modern Softline design system for a wide variety of roof shapes. High load capacity, targeted improvement of soundproofing properties thanks to additional side cladding and maximum impermeability can be integrated into the system when realising heroal terrace roofs.

Therefore, we offer you a confidential communication channel: the heroal whistleblowing system. This channel offers you the possibility of reporting potentially serious violations of laws and regulations or internal guidelines via the web-based whistleblowing system. heroal Compliance will follow up on all information received, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations. We grant all whistleblowers absolute anonymity and protection. heroal’s whistleblowing system meets all requirements of the new EU Whistleblowing Directive and the principle of confidentiality for whistleblowers and parties concerned, fully compliant with GDPR. Another core element of the heroal Compliance is the heroal Code of Conduct, which outlines binding minimum standards for the responsible and ethical behaviour towards our employees, business partners, the society, and the environment.

Awards

Innovation Award Architecture + Building 2023

heroal won the Innovation Award Architecture + Building for its front door system heroal D 72 PF EM. The jury honoured the enhanced production time and the faster, easier door panel installation using clips instead of a bonding adhesive. In addition to the advantages during fabrication, this system offers an excellent variety of designs.

German Design Award 2021

Once again heroal has received the German Design Award. Expert committees only nominate products that verifiably stand out from the competition because of the quality of their design. The patio roof system heroal OR convinced the jury because of its pure design, which lends the patio roof a modern and classy look so that it can be integrated into many architectural styles. The impressive span width of 7 metres of the aluminium system - without the need for an additional centre support – also had a positive effect on the jury’s decision.

German Innovation Award 2020

The sliding door heroal S 65 wins the German Innovation Award 2020 in the category "Excellence in Business to Business - Building & Elements". The German Innovation Award honours products and solutions that create added value compared to previous solutions and are characterized by user-centricity. The decisive evaluation criteria are the level of innovation, user benefit and cost-effectiveness. However, features such as sustainability, quality and market readiness are also included in the assessment of the jury, which is made up of independent, interdisciplinary experts from industry, science and finance. The sliding door heroal S 65 is characterized by particularly efficient production and an innovative leaf design.

Green Good Design Award 2019

Building project AFI Vokovice receives Green Good Design Award 2019. The Green Good Design Award honours individuals, companies and organisations that, together with their products, services and concepts, follow an exceptional way of thinking toward sustainability and progress. The AFI Vokovice project especially focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. As an aluminium system provider, heroal was able to master this focus in an excellent way, supplying heroal system products for windows, doors, curtain walls and sun protection.

Z&R Award – Product Of The Year 2015

The heroal LC sun protection system wins the Z&R award for Product Of The Year 2015. Each year, the Dutch specialist magazine Z&R presents the Z&R award for the best product development. The award stands for sophisticated detailed solutions with perfect engineering. This year it has been awarded to heroal for the new heroal LC sun protection system.

BATIMAT 2013 International Innovation Award

The heroal rs hybrid roller shutter and sun protection system developed by the aluminium systems supplier heroal has won the 2013 International Innovation Award. During the multi-stage selection process, the heroal rs hybrid won over the judging panel, which was made up of over 150 international experts. What is so revolutionary about the heroal rs hybrid: It combines the benefits of an aluminium roller shutter with the advantages of textile sun protection in a single product. The panel's assessment also took account of aspects such as sustainability, quiet operation, the compact winding diameter and improved heat insulation in combination with heroal window and curtain wall systems.

Universal design award 2013

Door system "heroal D 92 UD" wins Universal design award 2013. Since 2008, Universal Design GmbH (Hanover, Germany) has presented the universal design award annually. Based on the design concept of the same name, the award honours products and solutions that can be used by all people to the greatest extent possible thanks to their universal design. The panel of judges at the universal design award 2013 selected 61 winners from a total of 121 entries coming from 10 countries. The entries were divided into 9 categories.

Prize for innovation in architecture + window door façade 2012

"heroal W 72" window system wins prize for innovation in architecture 2012. The "prize for innovation in architecture + window door façade" was awarded as part of the “fensterbau/frontale” exhibition in Nuremberg. The prize for innovation is awarded to products that have high relevance for architects. Only innovative systems of excellent quality form a basis for a successful result on the market - such as the innovation leader "heroal W 72".
